Hello, I don't personally have psoriasis, but my 11 year old daughter has a moderate to severe case of psoriasis. She has it on her feet, ankles, legs, stomach, arms, hands etc. Any advice anyone could give me would be great!!!

Hi: if you have recently been diagnosed with psoriasis it's important that you get connected with other people who have psoriasis to get support and information you need.
I'd recommend psoriasispatients.com and psoriasis.org.

I just want to say that having psoriasis for some 40 years my best advice is to be very careful about what you try. There are many people who will give you advice about how to control your condition. Please research every supposed cure before you try it. Don't just take peoples word that it will work.

I was diagnosed with psoriasis when I was about ten to eleven years old, and now eight years later I'm still fighting it. Through all those years I've realized that the only thing I can do is take the good with the bad. I've been through so much pain, mentally and physically, and it never gets any easier. But at least now I know that it's my skin and my life. Mine. It can't control me so there's no reason why I should let it. Just.. no matter how bad it gets, don't give up hope. It's just your skin, it's not who you are.

I was diagnosed when I was 10 and am now 20. At first, I didn't understand why I was so red and itchy all the time and why it wouldn't go away. But over time you learn to accept it and to manage it. Know that there is no reason at all to be embarrassed. Take educating yourself into your own hands and forge a good relationship with your dermatologist. Before lathering yourself up in ANY lotion, try it on a small area, because some of them make the inflamed areas burn and that's not fun at all!
